Fuel cell vehicles have overcome the problems of long charging time, fast battery power decay, and intractable battery scrapping for rechargeable electric vehicles. However, the promotion of fuel cell vehicles is still not as smooth as charging electric vehicles. The reason is that in addition to the still high production cost and sales price of fuel cell vehicles, the scarcity of their supporting hydrogen facilities is the biggest obstacle to the rapid development of fuel cell vehicles.

High-pressure hydrogen storage cylinders and high-pressure hydrogen storage tanks, as fixed hydrogen storage facilities, are hydrogen refueling stations recently built or under construction in my country.The high-pressure hydrogen storage facility has the functions of hydrogen storage and pressure buffering, and monitors the storage medium parameters, safety status and other functions through sensors such as pressure and temperature. The higher the working pressure of the hydrogen storage system or the greater the difference between the working pressure and the hydrogen charging pressure of the hydrogen vehicle, the hydrogen charging time of the hydrogen vehicle will be shortened; the increase in the working pressure of the hydrogen storage system will also reduce the frequent opening of the hydrogen compressor.

(1) When the hydrogen storage pressure does not exceed 20MPa, a high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinder group can generally be selected as a hydrogen storage facility. At present, it is mainly used in hydrogen refueling stations where low-pressure pipeline hydrogen is used as the gas source, and is used as primary hydrogen storage. This hydrogen storage cylinder group is designed and manufactured according to the requirements of the 21-2016 TSG Pressure Vessel Safety Technical Supervision Regulations. The main material is 4130X high-strength structural steel, the bottle body is a single-layer thick-walled structure, and the main material is 4130X high-strength structural steel.

(2) When the hydrogen storage pressure is greater than 20MPa, considering the hydrogen embrittlement corrosion of high-pressure hydrogen pressure hydrogen, a high-pressure hydrogen storage tank is generally selected as a hydrogen storage facility, and the wall of the storage tank also becomes a multi-layer structure. The inner layer is made of hydrogen embrittlement-resistant stainless steel, and the outer layer is reinforced with high-strength carbon steel, which has the characteristics of corrosion resistance and high pressure resistance.

A hydrogen storage tank with a maximum hydrogen storage pressure of 45MPa is usually used in a 35MPa hydrogen refueling station, and a hydrogen storage tank with a maximum hydrogen storage pressure of 90MPa is usually used in a 70MPa hydrogen refueling station.
